Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi succumbs to injuries sustained in deadly assault by three armed assailants

The head of the Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena, Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, was fatally shot at his Jaipur residence on Tuesday afternoon. Three gunmen attacked Gogamedi, and he returned fire, killing one assailant identified as Naveen Singh Shekhawat.

The other two attackers fled the scene and remain at large. Gogamedi was rushed to the hospital but did not survive his injuries. For the past year, Gogamedi had faced threats and appealed for more police protection. His murder has now spurred protests across Rajasthan as activists demand authorities apprehend those responsible. Gogamedi's security detail engaged the armed intruders, resulting in Shekhawat's death, but could not prevent the attack that claimed the SRRKS president's life.

The president of the Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena, Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, spearheaded multiple demonstrations over issues such as the Bollywood film "Padmaavat." During one fateful protest over a year ago that turned violent, he began receiving death threats that eventually culminated in the deadly assault by three armed men at his Jaipur residence.
