Special Operation Group arrests ex-cop in Jaisinghpura for running Bluetooth cheating racket

Rajasthan Police's Special Operation Group (SOG) arrested a 57-year-old man on Sunday, identifying him as the "mastermind" of the network that allowed cheating in the 2021 police sub-inspectors (SI) recruitment exam. The accused's wife is addtional SP posted at the Rajasthan police headquarters. The accused person, Tulsa Ram Kaler, was captured in the Jaisinghpura area.

He was a police sub-inspector who was terminated in 1993. Since then, there have been allegations that he was involved in paper leaks, copying and helping others cheat on competitive examinations using different Bluetooth-enabled gadgets.

VK Singh, Additional Director General of SOG and ATS,  said that Kaler was appointed as a police SI in 1991 but was arrested and fired in 1993 for looting Hawala money when posted at Deedwana, Nagaur. In 1995, he opened Chanakya Coaching Institute in Jodhpur and moved to Bikaner in 2006 after marrying Namita Khokhar, a grade-III teacher. Khokar is now serving as an additional SP at the Rajasthan Police Headquarters.

Singh further added, “Kaler initially developed and innovated various things to ensure his family members crack different competitive exams. Later, he became the mastermind in providing Bluetooth-enabled gadgets. He has also been a paper solver in various exams."

Kaler was accused of allowing exam cheating through the use of Bluetooth-enabled devices hidden in slippers, vests wigs. He is a specialist in this work and demands a high fee for his services, according to an officer.
