Rajasthan State Sports Council and Royals to run RCA Academy?

The Rajasthan Royals and Rajasthan State Sports Council (RSSC) are about to start a new partnership following their joint hosting of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season here at the Sawai Mansingh (SMS) Stadium. There are several rumours that they plan to work closely together to manage the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) Academy.

The RSSC will not extend the academy contract with former state cricketer Pankaj Singh, which expires in August, according to other sources as well.

The Royals’ entry into the contest comes at a time when the RCA is battling to get its act together, with its coffers lying empty and conducting elections seeming like a tough task.

The RCA has been in chaos since Vaibhav Gehlot resigned as president in February, while the RSSC conducted an investigation and sealed the association’s academy and office.

It will be fascinating to see how things play out after the RCA elections are held.“The new president would want to have the RCA Academy. We will have to wait and watch how things unfold in that scenario,” another source stated, as reported by TOI.
