Rajasthan Royals have Rs 14.5 crore for IPL auction 2024 after letting Root, Holder go

Ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 player auction, the Rajasthan Royals released star players Joe Root and Jason Holder from their squad. The team also let go of seven other players - Abdul Basith, Akash Vashisht, Kuldip Yadav, Obed McCoy, Murugan Ashwin, KM Asif and Abdul Basith.

Of the released players, Holder's departure comes as a surprise, considering he was traded to the team from the Lucknow Super Giants just last year. With the latest releases, the Rajasthan Royals now have ₹14.5 crore left in their purse for the IPL 2024 auction scheduled for December 19th in the UAE.

The franchise will look to use the auction to bolster their squad as they seek improved performances in the next IPL season. Fans eagerly await the new additions to the Rajasthan Royals and whether the fresh faces can boost the team's fortunes in the tournament.
