The Rajasthan police’s Special Operations Group (SOG) is working harder to capture Suresh Dhaka, who is believed to be the mastermind behind several Jaipur paper leak cases.
Following a court judgment in Udaipur declaring him a proclaimed criminal and ordering the freezing of his property, the SOG has filed legal proceedings against Dhaka under Section 174A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
If found guilty, Dhaka might face up to 7 years in prison, along with the penalties imposed by several sections of the IPC and the Rajasthan Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act. Dhaka, who has a total cash reward of Rs 1.25 lakh on his head, is now staying away from the police.
“Under this section, a person who has been booked under certain sections of IPC is declared a proclaimed offender if he fails to show up at a date or place required by a court. Dhaka was declared a proclaimed offender as per this provision,” stated an SOG official.
Authorities have proof indicating that Dhaka, who is currently on the run, could be hiding abroad. To force him into turning himself in, the SOG is launching these legal steps.
