Rajasthan police arrested 10 for using candidates during the REET Level-2 teacher recruitment exam 2022

Ten people are being detained in the Banswara district by the Banswara Police and the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Rajasthan police in connection with the suspected involvement of using dummy candidates during the REET Level-2 teacher recruitment exam in 2022.

Teachers who not only passed the exam by cheating but also were hired as government teachers are among the accused.

The village development officer (VDO) is one of the accused. In a related FIR, four people have been named, the remaining six are now being questioned.

Harshvardhan Agarwal, SP Banswara, disclosed that Geeta Devda of Munnipara, Kushalgarh and Anoop Dodiyaar of Sajjangarh, who obtained a level-2 teaching position, were among those detained for allegedly using a dummy candidate during their examination. “Cases have also been filed against Badal Garasiya from Jhalakiya Sajjangarh, Mahesh Patel from Jhare Moti Gangardatali, and Mahendra from Jhajharwa Gangardatali, who are currently being interrogated.”

Six other people, including several candidates, were held on suspicion after a complaint against the four primary suspects had been filed by Shafab Anjum, the district education officer (primary).

One of the detained suspects is a VDO, who allegedly provided dummy candidates to local exam takers. Another man from Sanchore, Jalore, was detained for the same offence. Police have stated that they will make arrests based on the evidence gathered and the outcome of the interrogation.
