Tika Ram Jully, Rajasthan's  Leader of Opposition and Congress leader, was injured in a vehicle accident with a Nilgai (blue bull) near Bhandarej on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. The event happened on June 5, as he was travelling from Alwar to Jaipur. He was quickly taken to the Dausa District Hospital for medical care.

Chief Minister of Rajasthan Bhajan Lal Sharma sent his wishes for Jully's quick recovery after the accident.  "News of opposition leader Shri Tika Ram Jully ji being injured in a road accident in Dausa has been received. I pray to Lord Shri Ram for his speedy recovery," Sharma wrote on X.

Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot expressed concern and wished Jully a speedy recovery, stating that he had called the district collector to get details about the incident.

In Rajasthan, the BJP won 14 of the 25 Lok Sabha seats in 2024, while the Congress took home eight seats. The CPI(M), Rashtriya Loktantrik Party, and Bharat Adivasi Party all won one seat. For Congress, which didn't win any seats in the 2019 elections, this was an improvement. Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union Minister Bhupender Yadav, Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla were among the BJP's notable winners in Bikaner, Alwar and Jodhpur.
