Rajasthan elections witness high turnout: Congress and BJP interpret results differently as polls close

The recently concluded elections in Rajasthan witnessed a significant voter turnout of around 68.24%, with both the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) interpreting the surge in their favor. Congress attributes the high turnout to support from minority and Scheduled Caste (SC) communities, while the BJP sees it as a call for change, particularly from the Gujjar community dissatisfied with Congress.

The Jat community is reportedly leaning towards the Congress due to welfare measures for farmers. The BJP contends that the Gujjar community switched allegiance due to unfulfilled expectations regarding Sachin Pilot's chief ministerial candidacy. The results are eagerly anticipated, scheduled to be declared on December 3. The high turnout is seen by Congress as an endorsement of their governance, emphasizing initiatives such as a separate budget for farmers and welfare bills.
