Former chief minister Ashok Gehlot demands opening of Gandhi Vatika Museum built in Jaipur

Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot criticized the Bhajan Lal government on Monday for delaying the opening of the Gandhi Vatika Museum in Jaipur's Central Park despite being in power for more than six months. Gehlot urged CM Sharma to open the museum as soon as possible.

Taking to his X account, Gehlot wrote, “Our govt constructed the Gandhi Vatika Museum in Jaipur's Central Park at a cost of around Rs 85 crore to convey Gandhi's message to the new generation."

He stated that the museum was inaugurated on September 23, 2023, by the Rajya Sabha's opposition leader and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, as well as former Congress president Rahul Gandhi.

“Initially, it was not opened to the public due to the administration being busy with elections. However, now that the Lok Sabha elections are over and the new govt has been in place for more than six months, it is incomprehensible why the Gandhi Vatika Museum has not yet been opened,” he added.
