CM Bhajanlal Sharma's big decision, women to get 50% reservation in Grade-3 teacher jobs

Women in Rajasthan will now have a 50% reservation in Grade-3 teacher recruitment. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has accepted a proposal to change the Rajasthan Panchayati Raj Act, increasing the quota limit for women from 30% to 50% in Grade-3 teacher recruitment. The BJP committed to increasing reservations in its party manifesto for the assembly elections.

The chief minister's office (CMO) released a statement on Friday that reads, "The state govt, under the leadership of CM Bhajan Lal Sharma, is committed to the empowerment of women and their all-round development. The CM has fulfilled another important promise made in the manifesto... This decision will provide more employment opportunities to women in the state, and they will be able to become more empowered by becoming self-reliant."

Education minister Madan Dilawa said, "Our party has always been at the forefront of respecting women and this can be seen in the chief minister's decision to increase the reservation for women in Grade-3 teacher recruitment. BJP has always been at the forefront of working for development and empowerment of women."

Teachers' organizations across the state welcomed the decision, saying that it will aid in hiring more women. They also requested that the government take care of women who are already on duty by posting them in their home district, particularly those who are widows or have other problems.
