The accused of gang rape at Beawar’s Jaitaran police station committed himself by hanging himself with a noose made of a torn blanket. The incident occurred on Thursday night. When a police officer arrived at the barracks on Friday morning to patrol, he saw the prisoner hanging from the noose. Following this, prison officials were informed of the incident. At the same time, following this event, the family members of the dead Rakesh have raised questions about the Jaitaran police station.
Beawar SP Narendra Singh stated that the deceased, Rakesh, 30, a resident of Jaitaran Chavadia Kala, was arrested in a gang rape case under the 376 Act. He committed suicide at the police station’s barracks on Thursday. The judicial magistrate, SDM and police arrived at the scene as soon as they were informed about the incident. The body was taken into custody by the police and sent in for a post-mortem. The entire incident is being investigated by the police.
Rakesh’s body was transported from the Jaitaran police station to the Beawar government hospital where a medical team was formed after the magistrate’s order. Rakesh’s post-mortem was performed by the doctors; the post-mortem report will be the only source of information on the real cause of death.
According to the report, the entire incident in which Rakesh tore the blanket and hung himself in the barracks was recorded on CCTV cameras placed at the police station. According to SP Narendra Singh, after checking the CCTV tape, action will be taken against any irresponsible officers as per the rules.
