3 More Die Due To Heatstroke In Rajasthan, Number Of Patients Rise To 3,965

On Tuesday, Rajasthan had its 17th straight day of scorching heat, with Churu being the hottest spot in the state, with temperatures reaching 50.5 degrees Celsius.

In most regions, the maximum temperature stayed over 5 degrees above average for the season. However, some relief is predicted beginning Thursday, when rain is expected in the Jaipur, Bikaner, and Jodhpur divisions, according to the Met Office.

On Tuesday, the health official confirmed three deaths from heatstroke in Jaipur, bringing the state's official toll to four.

Two 63-year-old ladies from Delhi and Karnataka, as well as a 40-year-old male from Agra, underwent treatment for heatstroke at Jaipur's Sawai Man Singh Hospital. The hospital administration stated that they were admitted to the ICU and, despite all attempts, could not be saved.  Another individual, a student appearing for a pharmacy test at a private institution in Jaipur, died.

According to data from the official health department, more than 1,100 patients have been sent to emergency units of hospitals in Rajasthan over the past two days to treat heatstroke.

Hospitals around the state recorded 343 cases of heatstroke on Tuesday; 813 patients had arrived at hospitals on Monday due to heatstroke. This summer, 3,965 people have been diagnosed with heatstroke. According to data from the health department, almost 25% of the cases of heatstroke this summer had been reported in the last two days.
